Discord
Overview
The Discord integration adds a Discord bot to a Discord server. The bot reads the messages in the channels of that server.
Warning: Do not expect the Discord integration to make issues. The bot only adds a message as a comment to an issue that is linked to its channel. Vantik has no control that links a channel to an issue, so the bot does nothing today.

What the operator must set up
DISCORD_CLIENT_IDandDISCORD_CLIENT_SECRET. These are the client of a Discord application. Without them, the page shows Not available on this deployment.- The token of the bot. This goes in the
configof the Discord row in theIntegrationDefinitionV2table, asbotToken. No environment variable sets it. The server starts the bot only if this token is set.
The bot sends each Discord event to /api/v1/webhook/discord on the address
in FRONTEND_HOST.
How to connect Discord
- Open Settings → Integrations, and click View on Discord.
- Click Connect.
- On Discord, select the server, and allow the bot.
The integration has no team mappings.
To disconnect, click Disconnect.
What the bot does with a message
When a person writes a message in a channel, the bot looks for the issue that is linked to that channel.
- If the channel has a linked issue, the message becomes a comment on that issue. The bot does not read an edit of a message.
- If the channel has no linked issue, the bot does nothing.
The bot ignores a message from a user whose name contains Vantik. Nothing
goes from Vantik back to Discord.
